Apple has finally announced its brand new iMacs which made from aluminum and glass. These new desktop computers come in two models; 20- and 24-inch and have a glossy display. They are powered by Intel Core 2 Extreme processor (up to 2.4GHz) and ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro graphics engine.
The new 4th generation iMac also come equipped 1GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, 8x SuperDrives, 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. There are two versions of new iMac’s keyboards (built from anodized aluminum): a larger wired USB 2.0 version with two USB ports and a smaller Bluetooth 2.0 model. These keyboards include dedicated keys for screen dimmer, expose, media and volume controls, as well as eject for optical drive.
Apparently, there’s no iPhone’s Multitouch function on the new iMac (which has been rumored in the last couple months) on the new desktops, but according to the folks over at Engadget, Steve Jobs is not sure if the multitouch technology makes sense in the Mac and ‘classify that as a research project’. Well, at least, he is considering to bring the touchscreen technology on your Mac’s screen.
Apple’s new iMacs also support for Firewire 400 / 800, iSight camera, a slot loading SuperDrive, and so forth. With a complete redesign, the price of the 20-inch versions start from $1,199 and will increase to $1,499 (depending on the configuration), while the 24-inch versions will cost you around $1,800.
