The better mouse technology has been developed by five WPI undergraduates students. This MagicMouse is actually a 3D ultrasonic mouse system which allows user to wears it as a ring. The mouse comes with capability to manipulate items on the computer display by pointing and moving their finger at the monitor. It’s so simple to move the cursor on one finger, isn’t it?. Further more, just move the hand nearer to or farther from the screen to zoom in or zoom out.

The MagicMouse features standard mouse protocol to communicate with the PC, in other words that there is no any additional software needed, just plug and play through the USB interface.

The students who developed this project plan to continue working on the mouse to increase the capabilities of the MagicMouse. They hope with some additional technology will allow users to perform extra functions, including clicking and holding by using hand gestures.
