Electronics giant Sanyo has just unveiled the Xacti DMX-HD700 HD digital movie camera. It comes with similar body design as the Waterproof CA65 Xacti version (or E1 for U.S market), but it only has 720p HD movie recording functionality, rather than 1080p. Sanyo bundles the HD700 with SD/SDHC memory card to store the photos taken with 7MP camera as well as videos. It is compatible with MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video format.
According to Sanyo the weight of the Xacti DMX-HD700 has been reduced by approximately 10%, while the volume has been reduced by approximately 16% when compared to the previous, DMX-HD2 model. At just 171 cc in volume and 189 grams in weight, the HD700 will “fit in your pocket” or “almost any bag”. Other interesting thing is, this HD700 also feature ‘Face Chaser Function’ that can tracks up to twelve faces when taking photos. Available beginning 19th October 2007.
