You read it right. With this computerized instrument you can play music with the tip of your nose. This instrument will give a chance to people with disabilities to talk in full sentences to experience music’s positive effects. More over, it gives them the ability to form full sentences.
The interface was developed by Van Dusen, a recent graduate of computer science and electronic media arts and communications at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York State and Pauline Oliveros, a musician and arts professor at Rensselaer. And according to Van Dusen, “This instrument will give a voice to those who are all too often ignored, due to their physical disability,” .
This instrument only works if you have a webcam on your computer, where you can see a live video of your face via this webcam. If you tips your nose, then the instrument will track your motions and will place a red box as a mark on a monitor that matches to an on screen keyboard.
