NEC introduced its new 40-inch LCD4020 and 46-inch LCD4620 MultiSync 20 Series line of high end HDTVs with measure about 5 times thinner than normal TVs. The HDTVs feature CV12, a new pixel technology that uses chevron-shaped pixels rather than rectangles. When the pixel shapes changed, contrast will be doubled and off-angle color shifts will be reduced.
The MultiSync 20 Series are suitable for PC or high-def TV use. The IT version (for PC use) support VGA, DVI and co-ax video input via BNC. While the AV versions (for TV use) support a serial port, S-video, RCA, and HDMI input.
Both the 40-inch and the 46-inch are capable to present 1366×768 screen resolution. The sets will be available starting June 2007 with the price tag of $4,400 and $6,300 for the IT versions, but it will increase to $4,600 and $6,600 for the AV versions.
