Fujitsu Siemens Unveils two New AMILO Xi Laptops

Fujitsu Siemens has officially announced two new laptops, called the AMILO Xi 2428 and 2528 at IFA 2007. These new notebooks are specially designed for digital films, MP3 sound files, video telephony and chat. Among the two laptops, the 2428 is the smaller one — Weighing just 3kg, it has a 15.4-inch wide screen, integrated webcam, loudspeakers and microphone, 3x USB, HDMI and a 5-in-1 card reader. The AMILO Xi 2428 is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7700, NVIDIA Geforce GS graphics card with 256MB dedicated Video RAM, 2MB of RAM, and up to 250GB of storage capacity.
Meanwhile, the AMILO Xi 2528 features a 17-inch wide screen, an option of integrated webcam, loudspeakers with sub-woofer and microphone and offers the same connectivity as the ‘lower-end’ model. It is equipped with an Intel Centrino Duo and Core 2 Duo chip, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics engine, 2GB of RAM and up two RAID hard disks (optional). The weight of the 2528 is at around 4kg.
Fujitsu Siemens’ AMILO Xi 2428 is priced at £699, while the 2528 costs £1449. Both laptops are expected to hit the market by the end of 2007.
