NEC updates its product portfolio by releasing three new laptops line of Lavie Series, codenamed the LaVie C, LaVie L Advanced Type and LaVie L Standard Type. This time we will only talk about the LaVie C series which are the most interesting ones. The notebook is available in different configurations, but the LC950/KC (the top range model) offers quite some nifty capabilities, such as the “Face Pass” feature which is actually a face recognition system. The system will allow users to logon into their laptop once the webcam recognizes their face.
The LaVie C series also include a Blu-Ray disc (read only), HDMI output, 160GB Hybrid hard drive with 256MB of Flash Memory. Some basic specs, include a 15.4-inch wide LCD display (WXGA+ ), Intel Core Duo T7500 running at 2.2GHz, AMD ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 and 1GB RAM. No word on pricing and availibility so far.
