Nokia N81 Smart Phone: Specs, Price and Availability

Nokia officially announced of its new Nokia N81 multimedia computer (part of the o2 line up of mobile phones) which will be released in the fourth quarter, possibly in October, in the selected European and Asian countries first and followed by the U.S release after that. Available in two different versions: an 8GB model and one that comes with a microSD expansion slot (accept up to 4GB cards). Designed for gaming and music, both Nokia N81s come with dedicated game keys as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack and offers music download from the Nokia Music Store and games from the N-Gage service. Furthermore, The Symbian smart phone also includes an FM tuner, A2DP support and side-mounted dual stereo speakers. The file formats that are supported by the N81 are MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, and M4A. Being a family member of the Nokia N series of multimedia computers, this Symbian S60 device has RealPlayer onboard for full-screen video playback and a 2MP camera module with the ability to record video.
Other features, include a 2.4-inch screen that capable to display 16 million colors, quad-band world roaming, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. E-mail support (Push, SMTP, IMAP4, POP3), Nokia Mobile search, and Nokia Maps are all included as well. With all that nice features, the 8GB model will cost $599 (unlocked version), while the unlocked version of the regular Nokia N81 will retail for $499.

I just saw the N81 with the Bose package, truly impressive. The packaging is quite nice, and the headphones rock. It would have been nice to see something like that from the beginning, yet instead the early adopters are still waiting for n gage to launch!
