The SGH-i550: Samsung’s First GPS Navigator Equipped Smartphone

The ‘SGH-i550’ smartphone from Samsung has just been showcased at London’s Symbian Smartphone Show. It is the manufacturer’s first smartphone that comes with GPS navigator feature. It runs on Symbian operating system v9.2 and S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 allows you to choose from hundreds, even thousands of apps from the S60 applications library and give access to your favorites with the help of its dedicated hot keys.
With GPS navigation feature, the car drivers can easily find directions, because voice activated turn-by-turn guidance while pedestrian mode provides specific directions as well as locations at walking speeds.
This candy bar-type smartphone come equipped with a 2.6-inch LCD display, an integrated 3.2 mega-pixels camera module with video editing capabilities, an FM radio and 150MB of memory. The unit also support for HSDPA at 3.6 Mbps and full internet access with a 128 MB RAM. Samsung’s SGH-i550 is expected to hit the European market sometime next month.
