Sony rolls out a couple new versions of its VAIO TP1 media center PC, codenamed the VAIO TP1V and TP1DTV. The former come equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, DVD burner, HDMI and WiFi connections. Sony offers more storage capacity than the previous model, 250GB hard drive. NEC updates its product portfolio by releasing three new laptops line of Lavie Series, codenamed the LaVie C, LaVie L Advanced Type and LaVie L Standard Type. This time we will only talk about the LaVie C series which are the most interesting ones. The notebook is available in different configurations, but the LC950/KC (the top range model) offers quite some nifty capabilities, such as the “Face Pass” feature which is actually a face recognition system. Epson has come up with a new home theater package for you that simplifies the process of setting up a professional home theater yourself. Back on January this year, Sony introduced its Vaio TP1 Living Room PC (see image) during CES, and recently - without official announcement, Sony has begun shipping its home theater PC.
According to Crave, this device won’t have the higher-end trappings of the typical HTPC, this means there’s no High-Def optical drive and no CableCard slot as well. Read the rest

Samsung Electronic has just introduced the 94 series 1080p plasma HDTVs that sport 802.11n Wi-Fi function (for streaming up to 1080i video) The new plasmas come in two versions, the 50- and 58-inch version. NEC introduced its new 40-inch LCD4020 and 46-inch LCD4620 MultiSync 20 Series line of high end HDTVs with measure about 5 times thinner than normal TVs. The HDTVs feature CV12, a new pixel technology that uses chevron-shaped pixels rather than rectangles.
