Samsung unveiled its new UMPC-like phone, known as the SPH-P9200 which comes with an iPod white color scheme. The ultra mobile PC runs on Windows XP operating system and features a 1GHz processor with an upgraded 512MB memory capacity. Here comes the new generation of Sony Vaio UX series line of Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC): the UX 72, UX92S and UX92NS. Instead of a 40GB hard disk drive, Sony now offers a 64GB SSD drive options to its consumer. Moreover, the company equips their new UMPCs with the 64Bit Core 2 Solo processor, such as the U2100 (1.06Ghz) and U2200 (1.20Ghz). Samsung America has officialy announced three new UMPCs, line of Q1U ultra-mobile PC: the Q1U-ELXP, Q1U-XP and Q1U-SSDXP. Based on Intel Ultra Mobile Platform 2007, all of the Q1U models come with a 7-inch touch-screen display with 1024×600 resolution, a split-QWERTY keypad, 1GB of RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Ethernet LAN, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition OS. HTC finally launched its UMPC ‘Shift’ which comes in a sleek, light-weight design. It runs on both Windows Vista Business and Windows Mobile 6.0 operating systems. Wibrain has just unveiled the sample of its business UMPC, code named ‘B1′. This device features a 4.8-inch LCD with touchscreen function (1024×600 resolution), an integrated 0.3MP camera, and 802.11b/g WLAN.
With the VIA C7M ULV CPU/VX700 GPU built into the UMPC, it allows you to enjoy high performance system at moderate price. The company is thinking to add GSM/GPRS/EDGE 4 band and HSDPA 3 band support.
