XtremeNotebooks took the wraps off what it claims is ‘the first quad-core notebook in US’, dubbed Xtreme 917V. Based on the Clevo D900C from Taiwan, the 17-inch laptop features Intel Core 2 Quad processor running at 2.66GHz, it is speedy enough for professional workstations or games enthusiasts.
The ‘Xtreme 917V’ gaming laptop includes a dual GeForce Go 7950 GTX chipsets with up to 512MB GDDR3 for raw speed and also offers a 512MB GeForce 8700M GT chipset as an option for DirectX 10-class 3D. Users can fill the available bays with three HDD (max. 750GB of storage), with one drive optionally being replaced with up to a 64GB SSD.
Other features, include a 1.3MP webcam, NTSC/PAL hybrid TV tuner, dual layer DVD burner, a/b/g/n wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity to name a few of the many features. The price starts from $2,399 for the basic configuration and $3,359 for the top-end 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad model. [via Electronista]
